Chorus

First lines - Songwriting exercise

Often you'll get an idea for an opening line but not know where to take it.

This exercise builds the habit of trusting that line and pushing forward anyway, because momentum is a skill you can actually practise.

Use the line given or you can replace it with your own.

Example

Starter line: "The platform's empty after ten" I watch the headlights cut the rain Still half-expecting you to run But every door slides shut again And I'm the only one

Try it yourself
