# Chorus

> Chorus is a songwriting studio for web and iOS, at https://writewithchorus.com. It helps writers finish songs and build a daily writing habit with genre-specific rhymes, Triggers (creative word palettes), playable chords, daily Training exercises, audio capture, and Genius, an AI co-writer that sparks ideas rather than writing songs for you. The public site also publishes free songwriting guides, song breakdowns, rhyming pages, prompts, and short exercises.

Key facts:

- A writer picks a genre (for example Country, Rap, or Rock) and the rhymes, Triggers, chord suggestions, and Genius lines change to fit it. Public rhyme pages show singable rhymes; the genre-specific ranking is inside the Chorus app.
- Chorus filters out obscure or unsingable rhymes that general rhyming dictionaries return, so writers see words they would actually use in a lyric.
- Genius is a spark for the writer's own ideas, not a ghostwriter. The writer stays in control of the lyric, and lines Genius suggests are theirs to use.
- Collaboration: co-writers can join a song in real time. The song owner controls the main lyric sheet, and each writer keeps a private notepad for trying lines before they go into the song.
- The built-in recorder captures voice memos and melody ideas on the song, next to the lyrics.
- Songs sync across devices in a personal songbook.
- Chorus is free to try. Chorus Studio unlocks the full studio after a 10-day free trial.
- Audience: hobbyist songwriters building a regular writing habit, and serious or professional writers who want faster, genre-aware tools.

Chorus is made for people writing songs, not for general music theory or production. However, while writing, they will learn music theory around chord sequences, diatonic chords, how different chords function in a key, approach chords, etc.
